Head of the Henderson Regatta

The Head of the Henderson is hosted by the Rowing Organization Of Citrus County Students, and is held on Lake Henderson and the connecting Tsala Apopka Chain of Lakes located in Inverness, Florida. The boats will launch in Lake Henderson and head to the Start Line. Rowers will navigate this 5K course through the chain of lakes and cross the Finish Line back in Lake Henderson where spectators will have a fantastic side vantage point of the final 750 meters. Please keep in mind that this is the first time we are attending the the Head of the Henderson, and all information is direct from the regatta organizers.

***NEW - Student-Athlete Arrival Time: All rowers must arrive at the tent by 7:30 AM.
Address: Lake Henderson, Wallace Brooks Park, located near 321 E. Dampier St., Inverness, FL 34450. This is approximately 70 miles from Hillsborough High School, and may take 90 minutes or more to drive there.
Directions:
- From I-75: Take Exit 329 at SR 44; Go WEST on SR 44 toward Inverness; Follow SR 44 for 15 miles; Turn Right onto US-41 N/FL-44/FL-45/E Main St.; Turn at the first Right onto Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.; Turn Right onto E. Dampier Street.
- From SR 200: Turn LEFT onto N. Florida Ave / US 41; Turn LEFT onto Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue; Turn RIGHT onto E. Dampier Street.
Parking: Head of the Henderson is located in the heart of Downtown Inverness. Parking is free for all spectators, and can be found on side streets and in City parking lots within minutes of the venue. Head of the Henderson is a perfect venue for biking and scootering...don't forget your wagons for ease of transporting all of your supplies!
Hospitality Trailer and Tent Location: All hospitality trailers will be in a separate location from the team tents at this regatta, as vehicles are prohibited in the park. The regatta hosts state that they will be located near the team tent area, and there is a paved path and a short walk between the hospitality trailers and the team tents.

TeamSnap App: A reminder, as stated in the participation policy you signed, student-athletes and parents will be expected to use only HHSRC platforms, which are TeamSnap and Remind, for official team communications. Use TeamSnap, especially on Regatta days, to ask or answer questions, and receive race updates. Now is a good time to double-check your account and ensure your contact information is correct.
Race times and Boat assignments: The coaches will complete boat assignments as soon as they can. Please check this link for updates. This has been a very stressful and unusual week, please be patient with this document. Times are tentative and subject to change without notice.
Weather: Look at your favorite weather app or website to check if rain/cold conditions are possible. Weather
predictions can change daily.
What to bring:
- Student-athletes are required to wear their unisuit
- Hats/visors and sunscreen
- Medications/inhalers, etc.
- Chairs/Blankets/Binoculars
- A wagon to transport your items. This is not required, but will come in handy.
- Things to keep you occupied during downtime-homework for rowers, books, etc.
- Jackets (can get cold)/Rain gear (has rained before)
- Money for food trucks. Food trucks this year will be: Buddy Brew, Blakes BBQ, Kona Ice
- Money for regatta shirts
- Long Sleeve Undershirt to wear under Uni. Dri Fit is recommended.

Food Vendors: Within 1 minute walking distance of the venue, from 9 AM - 1 PM, there will be a City of Inverness Market at the open-air downtown pavilion, in the Depot District. The market hosts 50 local vendors selling fresh produce, food, drinks, artisanal products, etc. Market at the Depot

Course Map: How much of the race course can spectators see? Spectators will enjoy an unencumbered view of the launching docks and a spectacular side vantage point of the last 750 meters of this Head Race as crew boats finish the 5K course and cross the finish line.
