This registration form is strictly for new rowers who want to join as new rowers starting in January.

First Day of Practice: January 6th, 2020

Last Day of Practice: End of April 2020, after Sweep State Championships

Weekday Practice Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday immediately after school until 6 pm

Weekend Practice Days: Saturday mornings from 7:30 am until 10:30 am

Practice Location:  Tampa River Center Boathouse at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park

Cost for the Spring Season:

When you register in the spring for rowing, you are joining mid year of the school year, which runs from January 6th to the end of April (after our last state championship regatta).  National competitions are in May, and if we qualify and attend, the cost of that trip is extra.

Our first championship regatta is in late March, so there is time to learn and get ready for racing if joining when joining in the spring.

There are several payment options, and all of these options include a $25 registration fee:

  • Payment in Full
  • Installments
  • Scholarship

Payment in Full

The cost of paying in full is $975 (for the spring season) and is due upon checkout of this online registration.  Note the $50 savings over the installment plan!

Installment Plan

The installment plan is a single payment of $215 up front followed by a monthly charge of $270 for a total of $1,025 due on the following dates:

  • January 31st
  • February 29th
  • March 20th

Note: Your credit card or bank account, depending on how you decide to pay, will be automatically debited or drafted on the above dates.

Scholarship

Only choose the Scholarship payment plan if you have been awarded a Crew Scholarship by the HHSRC Board of Directors.  If you choose this option and you have not been awarded a scholarship, you will be required to re-register.

Free Two Week Trial

If you are unsure about crew and want to try it two weeks for free, you can!  Click this Free Two Week Trial link for details.

Multi-Rower Discount

We offer a discount for multiple rowers in the High School Rowing program.  For every additional rower, we will discount the total fee by $100.  In order to receive this discount in the on-line registration form automatically, you must register all rowers in the same registration form.

Out of State/Overnight Regattas

There are no out-of-state regattas in the Spring.

In State/Long Distance Regattas

Travel costs for regular regattas, those that are a bit farther way but still in State, are not included in the rowing fees.  We attend a few regattas in Orlando and Sarasota.  If parents and rowers wish to travel the day before and stay at a hotel, they are free to do so at their own expense.  It is possible to drive early on Saturday mornings and get there on time, but we strongly recommend that rowers NOT make this trip on their own.

Uniforms

Uniforms are purchased at the beginning of the Fall Season.  Returning rowers have the option of using the previous year's uniform.  Uniforms cost $95.  All rowers will be measured for uniforms at the same time so that one order can be placed.  Rowers are required to wear uniforms in order to race at any sanctioned rowing event.

Scholastic National Championships

Rowers qualifying for SRAA Rowing National Championships will have the opportunity to travel to that regatta at the end of the the Spring Season.  Only rowers qualifying for and participating in National Championships need to pay this fee.  That fee will be determined at that time, but is typically $300.

Hospitality

At every regatta, we set up a Hospitality Tent where both rowers and parents can relax between events.  We bring a grill and tables and everything to make the day a fun buffet-picnic outing.  This is an entirely parent-driven activity, one that requires your support in terms of volunteering to help with setup in the morning, prepare food, and breakdown at the end of the day.  The rowing fees do not cover the cost of the food.  You will be asked to sign up to bring food and drinks or you have the option of paying a $20 food donation.  Hospitality is for everyone.  Bring your entire family!  Help us make it a great day!  Emails will be sent out before every regatta with a link to SignUpGenius.

Volunteering

This club cannot operate without you volunteering!  The County nor the School provides any funding for rowing.  It is 100% funded and supported by you the parent.  Please see our volunteering page for details on how you can do your part.
