Hillsborough High School Rowing Club (HHSRC), based in Tampa, FL, seeks a head coach to train and inspire >40 student athletes.

The Hillsborough High School Rowing Club is an established and thriving rowing club that was founded in 1999. HHSRC is based out of the Tampa River Center in Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park. This state of the art boathouse was opened in 2018 in the heart of Tampa and was part of a $35 million revitalization project. The dedicated rowers of this club have won numerous District and State Championships and regularly qualify multiple boats for SRAA Regatta. Moreover, HHSRC recently upgraded its boat fleet with multiple new sculling and sweep shells.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, the ability to motivate and train high school students, have a vision for growing the program, and effectively manage a team of 2-3 assistant coaches, including a land coach. This is a part-time, salaried position with a generous bonus structure. Responsibilities include directing the training of student athletes by scheduling, planning, and conducting practices, coordinating participation in regattas, and overseeing the team facilities and equipment. 

HHSRC is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization run by an experienced Board of Directors made up of parent volunteers.

Most importantly, the incoming Head Coach will inherit a wonderful group of student athletes, many in the Hillsborough High School International Baccalaureate program, and will become part of a vibrant rowing community and the HHSRC family.
